THE MOLLS
Peter Prescott - drums
Tristam Lozaw - bass guitar
Vulff-Lazar (Bill Koff) - electric bassoon, vocals
Rob Davis - guitar, ARP 2600
Jon Coe - keys
"...Coe later took over drums. We had to part with Peter
Prescott cause he lived on the South Shore and couldn't make rehearsals.
The Molls were a space-art-punk band with one single - 'Black Sheets White Stains'
b/w 'Is Chesty Dead?' that now sells in Germany and Japan for $125. It's been
featured in several movies, including The Decline and Fall of Western Civilization."
Rat owner Jim Harrold, who booked us often with John Cale, Wendy O Williams,
Pere Ubu, Squeeze, the Girls, early Talking Heads etc., would spurn other "artsy"
bands seeking bookings by saying, 'We already have one Molls, we don't need
any more.' But our favorite Molls quote was: 'The Molls got bolls' -- Jeff Connolly,
DMZ. Three of us went on to become Someone & the Somebodies."
